Existing Policy Review
Your Policy Should Still Work as Hard as You Do
A complimentary policy review helps you understand what you own, confirm it still fits your goals, and identify any gaps or opportunities you may have missed.

Understanding Existing Policy Review
Life insurance policies are not set-and-forget financial instruments. As your life evolves, your coverage needs, beneficiary designations, and long-term goals may change, and a policy that was the right fit years ago may need to be reviewed to confirm it still serves its purpose. Many clients discover that they are paying for coverage that has drifted out of alignment with their current situation.
Uhud Insurance & Financial Services offers a complimentary review for clients who already own life insurance. We take the time to walk through what you have, explain what it means, and help you make informed decisions about whether your existing coverage still reflects your priorities, or whether adjustments are worth considering.
What this strategy can offer
Clear Understanding of Your Current Coverage
Many policyholders are not fully certain what their policy covers or how it is structured. A review gives you a clear, plain-language explanation of your current death benefit, policy type, and key terms.
Beneficiary Confirmation
Outdated or incorrect beneficiary designations are one of the most common and consequential oversights in life insurance planning. A review confirms who is listed and whether those designations reflect your current wishes.
Cash-Value Assessment
If you own a permanent policy, a review will help you understand your current cash-value balance, guaranteed versus projected values, and any options you have for accessing those funds.
Premium and Obligation Review
Understanding what you are paying, how long you are obligated to pay it, and what happens if your premium situation changes is essential information that a review brings to the surface.
Term Expiration and Conversion Awareness
If you own a term policy, knowing your expiration date and whether a conversion option exists can be critical for avoiding an unexpected coverage gap. A review ensures you are not caught off guard.
Goal Alignment Assessment
A review goes beyond policy mechanics to ask whether the coverage still makes sense for where you are today, including changes in income, family structure, assets, and long-term planning priorities.

Frequently asked about existing policy review
Yes. Uhud offers a complimentary review because we believe clients deserve to understand what they own. We will walk through your existing policy, answer your questions, and share our observations. There is no pressure to make any changes or purchase anything as a result of the review.
Ideally, you should have your most recent policy statement or policy illustration, your original policy document if available, and any recent correspondence from your insurance carrier. If you cannot locate all of these, bring what you have and Uhud can help you request additional information directly from your carrier.
Some permanent policies, particularly older universal life policies, may not be on track to perform as originally illustrated due to changes in interest rates or other assumptions. A review will identify whether your policy is at risk and what options you may have, including adjusting premiums, reducing the death benefit, or exploring whether a policy exchange might be appropriate.
Replacing an existing policy is not always the right answer and should be evaluated carefully. A new policy resets your contestability period and may involve new underwriting. In some cases, keeping and adjusting an existing policy is the better option. Uhud will present the full picture so you can make an informed decision based on your actual circumstances.
Absolutely. Uhud reviews policies regardless of where they were originally purchased. Our goal is to help you understand what you have and whether it still fits your needs, not to simply replace what someone else sold you. If your existing coverage is solid, we will tell you so.
